Food in Greece

The food in Greece never disappoints, and everything I had was outstanding. The common misconception is that the Greeks eat a lot of fish. While it's true that there is a lot of seafood, they eat more meat and potatoes than they do fish. Typical drinks are table wine and ouzo (a clear liquid with the flavor of licorice). Desserts are baklava and other honey pastry derivatives. Street food is gyros and crepes. And for the record, Greek salad DOES NOT INCLUDE LETTUCE. It's only tomatoes, cucumbers, green pepper, onions, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and olive oil.

My favorite restaurant, Rosalea.

Tzatziki sauce to dip the bread in.

Greek salad. (note that there´s no lettuce).

Chicken in cream sauce, served with rice and fries.

Pork leg, for two people.

We ordered wine with our takeout one night, and they delivered it to us SEALED in a plastic 1 liter water bottle!

This is what you use to make espresso at home.

Ouzo!

Honey pastry.

Baklava.

Pistachios from Aegina.

These crepes rival the French crepes.

Mmmmm. Warm chocolate and banana.

And my favorite gyro guy, again. I had about 3 of these while I was in Greece.
