It's already after 7pm and I'm just now about to pull out my suitcase to start packing. That seems to always be my style, wait to the last minute. I have a mental list of the things I need to take, which will mostly just be the items that I know are versatile and that I wear the most. There will inevitably be things I take that I never wear because local style will be different, but I won't know which items until I get there. The big question will be if I can stay underweight, because unfortunately economy class on United is still 50lbs max even for international flights.
Today was more errands. I picked up an extra wall adapter, changed my IPhone plan to the minimum levels, ordered more contacts before my prescription expires in two weeks, organized my jewelry box, did the last load of laundry, cleaned my room and hung up all my clothes so that I can see what I have before I take them back out again. As I was driving around town on my errands I realized how much I like Norman in the summertime, and how much fun I've had here in the last two weeks. I'm gonna miss it for sure, and that was a surprising revelation. It's nice to drive around the neighborhoods and see people walking their dogs or children riding their bikes. The thunderstorm we got this morning and the way the trees look extra green while it's raining brought back childhood memories of rainy Saturday afternoons spent reading on the couch. I didn't have that luxury today, as there are tasks to be done.
Flight leaves at noon tomorrow, so must leave home around 9:30 to get to the airport two hours early. Although with a grand total of 22 gates, OKC is never going to back up quite the way other airports do.
Ok, time to pack.
(The smallest roundabout in the world on Westbrooke Terrace near my house. I mean, is this really necessary??)
